Carl L. Wilkins, 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 7:06 P.M. at his home.
Carl was born June 13, 1924 in Stonefort the son of George and Peggy (Hancock) Wilkins. He married Sondra Weimann on May 10, 1969 in Zeigler and together they have shared over 42 years of marriage.
He was a veteran, proudly serving in the Army during WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion, Williamson County Shriners and the Masonic Lodge of Carrier Mills. Carl retired from Peabody Coal Company as a prospect driller and he enjoyed raising cattle. He was skilled in building trades and had been involved in many building projects including his homes.

Preceded by his Parents, Daughter Donna Spees, Sister Wanda Hart, Four brothers Wendell, Ralph, James and Doug Wilkins.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Noon at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be presented at the cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
