Carl Owen Underhile

June 8, 1938 — August 2, 2015

Marion- Carl Owen Underhile, age 77, of Marion, passed away at 6:40 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Marion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Carl was born in Cairo on June 8, 1938, the son of Charley and Joyce (Caswell) Underhile. He was proud to have served as a Sergeant at the Vienna Correctional Facility.

Survivors include his daughter-Zabrina and her husband Vernon Ganzer of Marion

Son- Ric Underhile and his husband John Cowles of Kentwood, MI

Granddaughter- Heather White and Devin Johnson of Herrin

Former spouse, with whom he shared his life for over 45 years – Mary Underhile of Marion

Brothers- Charles Underhile of Houston, TX and Stanley Underhile, and sister-in-law, Elaine of Royalton.

Sisters- Anita Underhile of Fort Collins, CO, Carolyn Shelton, and brother-in-law, Dennis Shelton, also of Colorado.

Several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- James Underhile, and stillborn grandson- Joshua Ryan White.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Olmsted Cemetery with Brother Ed Martin officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.

Friends and relatives who would like to celebrate Carl's life are invited to make a contribution in his name to the American Cancer Society or send flowers or cards to the family.
