Catherine Susan Brown

Herrin- Catherine Susan Brown, age 92, of Herrin, passed away at 2:45pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Herrin Hospital. Catherine was born in Wilmington, CA on July 31, 1922, the daughter of Ray W. and Louise (Maurico) Sperry. She married Carl Brown. He preceded her in death. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Brown had worked as an office manager for California Physician Services. Survivors include her daughter- Jennifer Maggi of Marion Grandson- Brandon Maggi of Edwardsville Brother- Clyde David Sperry of California Sister- Martha Marie Conway of California She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother- Donald Ray Sperry, and two sisters- Charlotte M. Green and Annabelle Louise Dishman. As per Catherine’s wishes, she will be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Blairsville Cemetery with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.   Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
