Herrin- Cathy Ann McMurray, 49, of Herrin, passed away at 5:45 PM, Thursday, February 28, 2008 at her home. Cathy was born on August 30, 1958 in Herrin to Aaron & Peggy (Gentry) Ridgeway. She married Thomas McMurray on July 12, 1996 in Freeman Spur. He survives of Herrin. Mrs. McMurray worked as a clerk at the Herrin Gas Mart for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, brothers and sisters and especially her beloved nieces and nephews. Survivors include- Husband- Thomas McMurray of Herrin Mother- Peggy Ridgeway of Freeman Spur Brother- Rodney Laney of Freeman Spur Brother- David Ridgeway & wife Kim of Herrin Brother- Tom Ridgeway of Freeman Spur Sister- Tammy McClure & husband John of Freeman Spur Sister- Michele Ridgeway & companion Greg Kerrigan of Herrin Brother in law- Louie McMurray & wife Judy of Herrin Brother in law- Bob McMurray of Elkville Brother in law- Dave McMurray of Dowell Sister in law- Marsha Fredricks & husband John of Vergennes Sister in law- Debbie McMurray of California Sister in law- Cathy McMurray of Pinckneyville Sister in law- Nancy Knight of Carbondale Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her father. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 3, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Robert Jilek & Rev. Harold McClure will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the funeral home.
