Cecelia M. Stacey

Herrin- CECELIA MARY STACEY, 80 years old, of Herrin, passed away at 3:30pm on Friday, May 25, 2007 at her daughters home in Herrin, with her son by her side. Cecelia was born in Chicago on June 11, 1926, the daughter of William and Mary Elwood. She married Doris Leon Stacey in Chicago on February 27, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1978. Mrs. Stacey was of Catholic Faith. She is survived by one daughter- Sandy Houghlan of Herrin Three sons- David Stacey of Herrin Bobby Stacey of Carbondale Harvey Stacey of Marion Seventeen grandchildren- Jon Nelson, Julie Overby, Tony Stacey, David Todd Stacey, Shannon Stacey, Chris Stacey, John Stacey, Delia Stacey, Rachel Stacey, Tim Stacey, Richard Stacey, Susan Abarca, Thearsa Armes, Jennifer Bollinger, Kim West, Rodney Sloan and Trina Stacey, whom was very special in her grandmothers time of need 21 great grandchildren Brother and sister-in-law- Ed and Delores Jolly of Virginia Beach Special friends- Helen Troehler, Sandy Dixon, Shirley Teelo, Joanne White, Donna Mayer and Sue Sons. Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sone- John Stacey, one daughter- Mary Ann Sloan, grandson- Robert Stacey, Brother- Bill Elwood, and a son-in-law she loved dearly- Bobby Houghlan. Graveside services will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to services at San Carlo Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Womens Center Building Fund-In Memory of Her Daughter- Mary Ann Sloan.
