Cecile E. Steckenrider

Marion-Cecile E. Steckenrider, 88, of Herrin, died at 1:30 PM, Sunday, October 5, 2003 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Cecile was born on October 7, 1914 in Christopher to Jack & Grace (Pegram) Greenwood. She married R. W. Steckenrider on September 17, 1936 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2002. She retired from Allen Ind. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Herrin and the Eastern Star in Christopher. SURVIVORS: Son & dtr in law- Robert R. & Susan Steckenrider- St. Louis, MO Son & dtr in law- David W. & Janet Steckenrider- Marion Seven Grandchildren: Julie Davis & husband Larry- Cadez, KY Jeannie Sittig & husband Jason- Cadez, KY David Steckenrider & wife Raven- Goreville Christopher Steckenrider- St. Louis, MO Brian Steckenrider- St. Louis, MO Shalini Upchurch- Marion Brenda Book- West Frankfort Ten Great Grandchildren Brother & sister in law- Jack & Judy Greenwood- Herrin Brother & sister in law- Jim & Katherine Greenwood- Mulkeytown, IL Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, & one brother; Robert Greenwood. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Leroy Waggoner will officiate. Burial will follow at Mulkeytown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
