Charles Eugene Hodge, 84, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 11:30 P.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Charles was born June 6, 1925 in Goreville the son of Everett Leo & Ivah Kathleen (Lowery) Hodge. He married Audrey Ellen Snow on December 26, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and together they shared over 53 years of marriage until she preceded him in death on January 22, 1996.
He was a Navy veteran, proudly answering the call to serve his nation during WWII. Charles was of the Baptist Faith and he retired from John A. Logan College, Maintenance Department.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Mike Ebert officiating. Burial will follow in Busby Cemetery in Goreville. Military honors will be presented by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
