Charles Micheal Stearns

Charles Micheal Stearns, 15, of Marion, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 12:17 am at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Charles was born June 26, 1999 in Carbondale, the son of Warren Burke and Sarah Lea (Schott) Stearns. Charles (Mikey to his family) loved reading, fishing, and playing Yugioh.  He was a member of the Marion High School freshman wrestling team and Bass Fishing Team.  He was planning on joining the Army and pursuing a career in the military after graduating high school. He attended Kincaid Christian Fellowship Church in Ava. He is survived by his; Parents – Warren Burke and Sarah Stearns of Marion Brother – James Tyler Roth of Marion Brother – Brendan Trevor Stearns of Marion Grandparents; Warren Allen and Maureen Stearns of West Virginia Charles and Brenda Schott of Ava Donna Marks of Carbondale Great Grandmothers; Faye Nellis of Carbondale LaDonna Stearns of Fulton, Kentucky Venita Marks of Marion Aunts and Uncles; Justin and Jessica Russell-Stearns of Springfield, Illinois Angela Davis and fiancé Andy Kinsey of Marion BryAna Stearns of Ripley, West Virginia Bill and Jen Marks of Carterville Bill and Stacy Schott of Ava And many other extended family members Preceded by his Grandparents – William and Stella Schott, Ray and Elma Reichrath, Jerome Nellis, Paul Stearns and Dennis Marks Funeral services will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Neathery officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or the Marion High School Wrestling Team.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959.
