Herrin- Charles R. Cutsinger, 79, of Herrin, died at 10:53 PM, Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Herrin Hospital. Charles was born on July 7, 1923 in Stiritz, IL to Chester Ray & Ruby (Spiller) Cutsinger. He married Jewell "Maxine" Brown on June 19, 1943 in Herrin. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2001. Mr. Cutsinger was a US WWII Army veteran, having served from February of 1943 until March of 1946 when he was discharged as a Corporal. He worked for over forty years as a coal miner for Orient #3 before his retirement. He was a member of the Herrin Free Methodist Church. SURVIVORS: Son & dau in law- Herb & Tara Gail Cutsinger- Marion Mother in law- Mildred Brown- Herrin Grandchild- Mark & wife Melanie Colombo- Herrin Grandchild- Jane Morgan- Herrin Grandchild- Richard & wife Mary Beth Breeden- Benton Great Grandchildren: Andrew Breeden- Benton Jonathon Breeden- Benton Sam Breeden- Benton Dax Mezo- Herrin Tyler Mezo- Herrin Ami Jo Morgan- Herrin Sister & bro in law- Evelyn & John Caraker- West Frankfort Brother & sister in law- Donald & Reva Cutsinger- Battle Creek, Mich Brother & sister in law- Alvin "Buddy" & Pat Cutsinger- Marion He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother; Norman Cutsinger. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2002, at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Bobby Samuel will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be performed at the graveside by the Herrin VFW & American Legion Post #1301. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Herrin Free Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
