Charles Steven "Steve" Lane

Herrin- Charles Steven “Steve” Lane, age 63, of Herrin, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014.
Charles Steven was born in Christopher on May 9, 1951, the son of Bill and Elinor (Jones) Lane. He found the love of his life in his best friend and fiancé, Sharon Bolen, who passed away on November 3, 2014.
Steve graduated from Marion High School and later Southern Illinois University. Mr. Lane had previously worked as a banker. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who had a brilliant mind, great sense of humor, and an unforgettable laugh. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.
Survivors include his mother- Elinor Headley of Herrin
Daughter- Sydney Lane of Denver, CO
Daughter- Riley Lane of Denver, CO
Granddaughter- Mia Elise Lane of Denver, CO
Sister- Anne and Billy Tottleben of Marion
Brother- John Bradley Lane of Georgia
Sister- Juanita Dare Lane of Chatanooga, TN
Step-Brother- Allen Headley of Marion
Niece- Christy Law of King George, VA
Niece- Paula Murphy of Marion
Niece- Jackie Martin of Marion
Niece- Tabitha Ferguson of Marion
He was preceded in death by his father- Bill Lane and his fiancé- Sharon Kay Bolen.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated. Memorial services to celebrate Steve’s life, will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Brad Harlow will officiate. A time of gathering will be held from 12:30pm until 2:00pm on Sunday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
Memorial donations are suggested to a Collegiate Fund which will be established for Sydney and Riley Lane and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 s. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
