Charles W. Thetford

Herrin - Charles William Thetford, 67, died at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at his home. Mr. Thetford was born December 11, l933 in Herrin to Harry M. and Adortha (Bailey) Thetford. He married Dolores Barnett on March 6, l953 in Marion. She survives. He was a coal miner with Consolidation Rend Lake Mine. He was a member of Union Gospel Mission in Herrin and the UMWA. He was a member of the Herrin's Prairie Masonic Lodge and the Herrin Elks Club. Survivors include: His wife - Dolores Thetford - Herrin Daughter and son in law - Linda and Gene Johnson - Herrin 3 grandchildren - Starla & Greg Johnson Garlick - Herrin Nicholas Johnson and good friend Shylah Smiley - Herrin Jonathan Thetford - Herrin Brother and sister in law - Harry M. & Leona Thetford, Jr. - Herrin Brother in law - Robert L. & Barbara Barnett - Glendale, AZ Niece - Jean Ann & James Myers - Surprise, AZ His parents, one son Randall Thetford and stepfather Frank Benetone preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at ll:00 a. m. on Friday at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 1l:00 a. m. on Friday. Burial will be at Herrin City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to TIP Hospice or the Baptist Children's Home in Carmi, IL and will be accepted at the funeral home
