Chris T. Yepsen, 47, of Herrin, formerly of South Elgin died unexpectedly, Thursday, January 19th while at work.
He was born June 6, 1964 in Elgin, the son of Roland (Ron) and Phyllis (Rogalski) Yepsen and attended school in St. Charles.
Chris was employed for over 30 years building houses and in concrete construction working for the past several years for Clifton Howell Construction. He was a hard- working, dependable and loyal friend as well as a loving son, father, brother, uncle and step-parent and will be dearly missed. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, but most especially his daughters.

Mother- Phyllis Yepsen of South Elgin
Sister- Rhonda Cartwright and husband Tracy of Thornton, CO
Brother- Scott Yepsen of South Elgin
Two daughters- Tiffany Yepsen Martinez of Thornton, CO
Catherine (Catie) Yepsen of Pompano Beach, FL
Two nieces- Elaine (Nikki) Yepsen and Crystal King
Nephew- Coltin King
Great Niece- Jayden Riersen
Several cousins
He also leaves three step-daughters, Cheryl Schaefer, Jamie Smithey and Tessa Smithey
Stepson- Butch Burns and their children
Long-time and faithful friends- Jim and Robin Greeney
He was preceded in death by his father, Ron, in 1972 and his maternal grandmother, Irene Rogalski in 1992.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 23, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
