Christine Boester

Christine Boester, age 86, of Marion, passed away at 10:45am on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Carrier Mills Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Christine was born in Creal Springs, IL on August 16, 1923, the daughter of John Wesley and Edna (Groves) Swafford. She married Walter Boester in Jackson, MO on May 23, 1941. Together, they shared 59 years of marriage, until his death on April 24, 2001. Mrs. Boester was a member of the United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include- Three Daughters- Nancy and Dale Hastings of Marion Sharon and Raymond Stephens of Marion Joyce Ann Richey of Marion One Son- Alan and Jo Boester of Marion 13 Grandchildren 28 Great Grandchildren 7 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter and son-in-law Mackie Richey, Grandson - Kevin Stephens, Great Granddaughter - Kelsi Cochrum, Seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. David Williard officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 5 8 P.M. on Tuesday at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hearts Helping Hearts, Hospice of Southern Illinois or the American Parkinson Disease Association.
