Christine Brannon

Marion Christine Chris Brannon, 78, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 10:50 P.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Chris was born September 11, 1929 the daughter of Clyde & Lena (Gulledge) Rushing in Marion. She married John Edward Brannon on July 17, 1952 in Marion and together they shared over 36 years of marriage until his death on March 22, 1989. Chris was a member of the Lake of Egypt Christian Church, and an accomplished pianist and organist. She had played for her church for several years. She enjoyed and excelled at golf and was an avid reader. She retired from the Shawnee Library. Survivors include: Sister Irene Yearack of Marion Nephew Gerry Yearack and wife Melanie of Marion Nephew Gary Yearack and wife Mary of Oak Hills, CA Great Nephew Todd Yearack and wife Tina of Springfield, MO Great Great Nephew Reece Yearack of Springfield, MO Preceded by Parents, Husband, John and Son, Pat Brannon. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Brother Leroy Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Lake of Egypt Christian Church.
