Herrin- Christopher Jon Marlow, 51, passed away at 5:35 PM, Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at his home in Herrin. Chris was born on the Fourth of July 1953 to Phyllis (Parigi) & George J. Marlow, Jr. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin and a former member of the Herrin Knights of Columbus. Mr. Marlow was a caterer for Kings Food Service in Herrin. One of Chris passions was cooking and he was an exceptional chef. He was former owner of the Blue Heron in Herrin and worked for a longtime for his father at Southern Beverage Co. also in Herrin. He formerly worked as a safety inspector for area mines. Chris enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed his family, hunting with his brothers, listening to music and attending rock concerts. SURVIVORS: Mother- Phyllis Marlow- Herrin Daughter- Rebecca Marlow & fianc Nicholas Wooldridge- Herrin Daughter- Rachel Marlow- Herrin Son- Dominic Jon Marlow- Carbondale Four Grandchildren: Dalton Rothchild- Herrin Matthew King- Herrin Sway Wooldridge- Herrin Dylan Cripps- Herrin Brother- Gregory Marlow- Carterville Brother & sister in law- Jeff & Judy Marlow- St. Louis Sister & brother in law- Kelly & Dr. Chris Hughes- Herrin Four Nieces & Nephews: Garin & Sam Marlow- St. Louis, MO Marlo & Sofia Hughes- Herrin Former wife & mother of Rebecca & Rachel- Rhonda Pagano- West Palm Beach, FL Former wife & mother of Dominic- Lisa Marlow- Carbondale He was preceded in death by his father and one infant nephew; Michael Anthony Hughes. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. A private inurnment service will be held by the family at a later date at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to OLMC/ St. Marys Education Foundation or towards a scholarship fund for Chris grandchildren. Envelopes will be available and donations accepted at the funeral home.
