Marion- Cindy Mappin, age 53, of Marion, passed away at 5:45pm on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion with her loving family at her side.
Cindy was born in Marion on May 31, 1960, the daughter of Lawrence Eugene “Gene” and Patricia “Pat” (Holman) McNeely. She was united in marriage to Bill Mappin in Marion in 1984. He survives.
Cindy worked at McDonalds in Marion for over 35 years. Everybody who knew Cindy loved her. She enjoyed life to the fullest and genuinely loved people. It didn’t take much to make Cindy happy. She loved playing Lotto with her buddy, Mom. Cindy loved animals and left behind her three dogs, who she loved dearly. She also loved her soap operas, many a time hanging up on someone if they dared to call while they were on. The great love of Cindy’s life is her son, Rusty. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She fought a very valiant fight.

Several nieces and nephews including- Larren Bearden, Traci Nicholson, Megan Long, Dusty King,
Cody King, Mark Mezo, Kaylee McNeely, and Kara McNeely
She was preceded in death by her dad- Gene McNeely.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Grange Hall Church with Rev. Kevin McNeely and Rev. Kenny Blumenstock officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of the services on Saturday at Grange Hall Church. Burial will follow at McKinney Chapel Cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
