Herrin- Clara Beatrice "Bea" Stacey, 84, of Herrin went to be with her Lord Jesus at 12:45 A.M., Saturday, June 16, 2001 at her home in the company of her son & two daughters after fighting a lengthy illness. Beatrice was born on December 14, 1916 in Bush, IL to Jessie Ramson & Maggie Ann (Rogers) Hamby. She married William "Bill" Stacey on June 9, 1934 in Bush. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1982. Mrs. Stacey was a housewife and was a member of West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and cooking for her family. She was a member of the "400 Club" at WXAN and loved animals very much, especially her cats. Survivors: Dtr- Wanda Popham- Herrin Son & dtr in law- Jim & Lois Stacey- Herrin Dtr & Son in law- Debbie & Darrell Terry- Herrin Twelve Grandchildren Eighteen Great Grandchildren One Great Great Grandchild Several nieces & nephews Many cousins & friends She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; William H. Stacey, grandson; Joel Massengill, three brothers; Tom, Remus, and Ernie Hamby, and two sisters; Mamie Brandon and Edith O'Daniel. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at the West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin. The Revs. Terry Griffith and Ralph Brandon will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM, Monday, June 18, 2001 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations may be made to West Monroe Apostolic Church and will be accepted both at the funeral home and Tuesday at the church.
