Clara L. Morris

Johnston City- Clara L. Morris, 86, of Johnston City, passed away at 12:30 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Clara was born on July 23, 1921 in Williamson County to Bertie & Minnie Mae (Hicks) Fox. She married Earl Morris on September 16, 1939 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1989. Mrs. Morris worked in the housekeeping Department at Ramada Inn in Marion for three years. She was of Pentecost Faith and attended Whiteash Community Church, Hope Chapel United Methodist Church in Colp. Survivors include- Son & daughter in law- Kenneth & Norma Morris of Johnston City Grandchild- Kenneth Edwards & wife Jennie of Salinas, KS Grandchild- Rhonda Hall of Johnston City Grandchild- Randy Morris & wife Patricia of Johnston City Great Grandchildren- Ryan, Damian, Destiny, Shelby, Nikki & Jacob Brother & sister in law- Robert & Veta Fox of Marion Sister in law- Faye Farner & husband Larry of Marion Brother in law- Jerry Morris of Marion Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter- Linda Smith, three infant children, four brothers- Clarence, Fred, Alsey & George Fox, and sister- Virginia Rose Peters. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Ed Martin & Rev. John Burnett will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5-9:00 PM, Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
