Clara M. Cannon

Marion Clara M. Cannon, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 8:10 P.M. at Fountains Nursing Care Facility. Clara was born February 1, 1925 in Williamson County to Alta & Alma (McDonald) Eckols. She married Joseph Cannon on August 12, 1946 in Marion and this year they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage. Clara was a homemaker and thru the years had worked at the V.A. Hospital. She was a member of 3rd Baptist Church. Survivors include: Three Sons; Raymond Mike Cannon and wife Somjai of Moorpark, CA David J. Cannon of Riyadh Saudi Arabia Danny G. Cannon of Brandon, MS Eight Grandchildren; Angela Fain and husband Gabe Elizabeth Adair and husband Bryce Cherry Towson and husband Daniel David Ben Cannon and wife Mary Darrel Josh Cannon Audrey Cannon Luv Cannon Christopher Cannon Five Great Grandchildren Brother Lodge & Erlene Hendrickson of Marion Sister Mary & Paul Dallas of Marion Several Nieces & Nephews Preceded by Parents, Son - Darrell Cannon, Sister Ruth James, Five Brothers Truman, Raymond, Larry, Aud and John Eckols Funeral services will be Friday, July 14, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
