Herrin- CONNIE SUE ALLEN, age 51, of Herrin, passed away at 6:22am on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Herrin Hospital. Connie was born in Herrin on January 1, 1960, the daughter of Roger and Donna (Lockler) Yates. Survivors include her caregivers- her Uncle and Aunt- Frank and Marilyn Engram of Herrin Step-father- Roger and Ritha Yates of Carterville Brother- Paul and Maria Yates of Colp Sister- Jennie Yates of Arizona Sister- Shirley and Bill Potts of Eldorado Uncle- Paul Finney of Colp Nieces- Megan Gass, Briana Yates, Amanda Yates Nephews- Wesley Hopkins, Anthony Yates, Tyson Yates Cousins- John Finney, Deanna Cornell, David Vancil, Terry McNew, James Butch McNew She was preceded in death by her mother and her grandparents. Connie always had a smile and never complained. She loved going outside and spending special time in the swing with her Uncle Frank. Connie loved dogs and animals. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Pramote and his staff for the care and compassion always shown to Connie. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Friday at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
