Cynthia E. Lemasters

Creal Springs-Cynthia E. Lemasters, age 86, of Creal Springs, passed away at 1:00am on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at her home in Creal Springs. Cynthia was born in Johnson County on November 24, 1921, the daughter of Ed and Nancy (Webb) Lamphere. She married Floyd Lemasters on March 12, 1939 in Little Rock, Ark. Together, they shared fifty-seven years of marriage, until his death on December 5, 1996. Mrs. Lemasters was a homemaker. She attended Cana Baptist Church and was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include: Four Sons- Loren and Barbara Lemasters of Pittsburg, IL Clive Lemasters of Creal Springs, IL Clarence and Barbara Lemasters of Creal Springs, IL Gene Lemasters of Marion, IL One daughter- Ina Phillips of Creal Springs, IL Thirteen Grandchildren Several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren One brother- Lewis and Shirley Lamphere of Marion, IL One sister- Maedean and James Dorn of Creal Springs, IL Several nieces and nephews Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Floyd, four brothers- John, Jim, Charlie and Bill Lamphere; three sisters- Elsie Pierce, Sara Dowdy, and Gertie Craig; and her great granddaughter- Christina Marks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. Shorty Alsip officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm on Monday, November 26, 2007 at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
