CYNTHIA E. WIEMKEN
Marion- Cynthia E. Wiemken, 97, of Marion died at 3:05 PM, Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at her home in Marion.
Cynthia was born on February 3, 1906 in Middletown, IL in the county of Logan to Dr. Gilbert Roscoe Brewer & Minnie (Trammel) Brewer. She married Carl Edward Wiemken on January 14, 1928 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1970.
Mrs. Wiemken was a school teacher in her earlier years and taught school in the East St. Louis area until her marriage. After she married she and her husband moved to Marion where she was a member of the American Association University for Women. She also belonged to the Delta Kappa Gamma teaching sorority. Later she was a member of the Marion Clio Club.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Marion for a good number of years and was lead soprano singer in the church choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother; Gilbert Roscoe Brewer, Jr., and one sister; Myrtle Lucretia Pat Brewer.
A memorial service will be at 11:00AM, Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Victor Long will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date at Coal Bank Spring Cemetery.
