David Lee Beyers

Creal Springs - David Lee Beyers, age 73, of Creal Springs, passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Friday, December 25, 2015, at his home in Creal Springs surrounded by his family. David was born in Pana, Illinois on January 20, 1942, the son of Harold and Maxine Elizabeth (Scovil) Beyers.  He married Betty June Gibbs on November 15, 1986 at the Hurricane Church in Herrin.  She survives. Mr. Beyers was a member of the Arnold View Baptist Church.  Prior to his retirement, David worked as the body shop manager at E.N. Baker Chevrolet.  He was a craftsman, and in his spare time enjoyed woodworking.  David took great pride in his 1964 Olds 442 that he took to car shows all over the country. More than anything, David was a great husband and father who will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife - Betty June (Gibbs) Beyers of Creal Springs Son - John Harold Beyers of Maryland Heights, MO Son - Joseph Arthur (Kersten) Beyers of DeSoto Daughter - Cindy Denise (Scott) Johnson of Murphysboro Daughter - Daphny Dee Blessing of Herrin Brother - Stephen (Elaine) Beyers of Austin, TX Nine Grandchildren Three Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter - Becky Lee (Beyers) Malkovich. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Ivan Ryan will officiate. Burial will follow at Whiteash Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
