Marion- Debra Kay McCombs, 52, of Marion, passed away at 8:10 PM, Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at her home.
Debra was born on December 20, 1954 in Saline County to Edward & Barbara (Lucas) Mitchell. She married Joe Allen McCombs on November 19, 1994 in Marion. He survives of Marion.
She was a loving mother and homemaker who also worked for awhile as a receptionist at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion and she waitressed and tended bar for her sister at Vicks in Carterville. She enjoyed most, driving escort for oversized vehicles with her husband.
Mrs. McCombs was a Baptist. She was a generous and giving woman who, despite her own illness, never complained and offered words of encouragement to others. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed going to Wal-Mart, dancing with friends, working in the yard and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. She was a great cook and hostess. Her family enjoyed her sweet tea and oatmeal raisin cookies.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 Am, Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral home in Marion. Rev. John Howat will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 9:00 Am until time of service, Saturday at the funeral home.
