Dee Brown

Constance Dolores “Dee” Brown, age 82, of Marion, passed away at 9:42pm on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Constance was born in Marion on February 24, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (DiSalvo) Rinella. She married Samuel Brown, Jr. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion on February 13, 1960. Together, they shared over fifty-five years of marriage. Dee was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. She had retired from GTE Telephone Company after more than thirty years of service. Dee was an avid Cardinal fan, she loved camping with her husband, Sam and grandchildren and cross country motorcycle trips. Survivors include her loving husband- Samuel Brown, Jr. of Marion Daughter- Dalyce Rupert of Marion Son and Daughter-in-law- Chris and Kathy Brown of Marion Five Grandchildren- Matt and Seneka Rupert of Philadelphia, PA Sarah Rupert and fiancé Nikki of Los Angeles, CA Dax Gunnar Brown of Marion Dalton Hunter Brown of Marion Samuel Joseph Brown of Marion Three Great Grandchildren Brother- Ernest Rinella of Marion Sister- Mary Jane Rinella of Marion She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and four brothers. As per her wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion with Monsignor Thomas Flach officiating. Inurnment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 am until the time of service at the church. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements. For those who prefer memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available the day of the service at the church or by mail to Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
