Delbert (Doug) Thurman Gregge

Hafer Delbert Doug Thurman Gregge, 76, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 11:15 P.M. at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis. Doug was born January 22, 1929 in Herrin to Thurman and Hazel (Lindsey) Gregge. He married Martha Ridgeway on April 28, 1953 and together they have shared the last 52 years of marriage. She survives in Carterville. Doug worked at Allen Industries. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving his country in the Army. Doug is survived by: His Wife Martha of Carterville Eight Children and their spouses: Sue & Terry Tripplett of Herrin Delbert & Debbie Gregge of Herrin Mary & Norman Bailey of Energy Connie & Brad Friend of Crab Orchard Scott & Laura Gregge of Marion Mike Gregge of Carterville Matt & Cassie Gregge of Herrin Mark & Michelle Gregge of Marion Thirteen Grandchildren Four Great Grandchildren Three Sisters: Marcella & Jim Burns of West Frankfort Marion Triplett of Energy Brenda Gregge of Cambria Several nieces & nephews Preceded by: Parents, Sister Evelyn Hall Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson- Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Herrin City Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at the graveside by the Herrin American Legion and VFW Post. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
