Delores Arlene Biehl (Franklin), 83, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012, at Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury, Illinois. She was surrounded by her loving family. Delores (Sis) was born in Pittsburg, Illinois on May 9, 1929 to Bernice and Lester Franklin. She graduated from Johnson City High School, and briefly attended Southern Illinois University prior to marrying Paul Edward Biehl on August 8, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by Children, Lavada Denap Hamilton of Rantoul, IL, John Biehl ( Susie Makitalo) of Duluth, MN, and Paula (Craig) Stimpert of Morris, IL; Grandchildren, Johna (Anthony) Esposito, Chandra (William Whetstine) Denap, Janessa (Ken) Jenkins, Kaylynn Stimpert and Timothy Stimpert, Jim (Tina) Makitalol, and Six Great grandchildren; Her brother, Lowell Bud (Irma) Franklin of Marion, IL, and numerous nieces, nephews , and dear friends. Delores lived in Litchfield for the majority of her adult life, where she was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church. She and Paul were actively involved in the Litchfield Boat and Ski Club. Although Delores considered her lifes purpose to be a wife and mother, in her later years she was employed at Roller Derby Skate Corporation as a secretary and Kitty Hawk Travel Agency as a travel agent. She was an avid pinochle player, and was never without a good book and a crossword puzzle. She was an outstanding cook, and gladly took special requests from her family and friends for her fried chicken, chocolate cake, or homemade brownies. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Mike Cash of First Baptist Church of West Frankfort will be officiating. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be Monday, September 24, 2012, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mitchell-Hughes. Memorial donations are suggested to a food pantry of the donor's choice and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home/ 800 North Market Street/ Marion, IL 62959.
