DENNIS OGDEN Johnston City- DENNIS JAMES EGG OGDEN, age 55, of Johnston City, passed away at 7:20pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Herrin Hospital. Dennis was born in Herrin on April 11, 1956, the son of Glenn and Mary Joyce (McCain) Ogden. He was proud to work construction for Fricke Management & Contracting, Inc. Dennis was engaged to Rosario Rebekah Ceren-Mitchem who survives in Johnston City. Dennis enjoyed fishing, hiking, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandson. Family gatherings were very important to him. His absence from family gatherings will leave a hole in the hearts of all who loved him. Surviving are his fianc- Rebekah Ceren-Mitchem of Johnston City Daughter- Tracy and Tom Smith of Johnston City Son- Jeremy Ogden of Herrin Daughter- Jennifer and Keith Darter of Herrin Daughter- Miranda Precious Ogden of Johnston City Step-Daughter- Beth and Chuck Hanner of Zeigler Step-Daughter- Nikki Fletcher of Herrin Step-Daughter- Jennifer and Chris Penley of Marion Grandchildren- Twenty-Two Great Grandchildren- Eight and one on the way Three brothers- Randy Ogden of Denver, CO Christopher Ogden of Chicago, IL Kevin and Michelle Ogden of Herrin Four sisters- Cathy and John Goebel of Herrin Susan and Dan Anderson of Vienna Karen Ogden of Herrin Diane and James Stephenson of Herrin Several nieces and nephews Many special friends and coworkers He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be sadly missed by his coworkers who enjoyed his humor and good natured pranks. The Egg has cracked and things will never be the same. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastor Jeff Wiggs officiating. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to a trust fund established for his daughter, Miranda Ogden, at the Bank of Herrin. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
