Diana Kay "Katie" Heath

Herrin- Diana Kay “Katie” Heath, 73, of Herrin passed away at 6:50 AM, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Diana was born on January 9, 1945 in West Frankfort to Rolla and Marie (Odle) Martin. She married John V. Heath, Jr. on January 6, 1961 in San Antonio, TX. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2017. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years. She formerly worked as a sales representative for the Ramada Corp and as general manager of Holiday Inn. Most recently she worked as a transporter for the Department of Children and Family Services. She was an active member of Southern Illinois Worship Center and loved to tell others about Christ’s salvation while shopping for bargains at many area outlets. She loved the Lord and spending time with her beloved family. Her smile and personality will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Survivors include- Mother- Marie Upchurch of Energy Daughter- Michelle Heath and Jack Delaporte of Marion Son- Todd Heath of Carterville Son- Matt Heath and Ann Staley of Carterville Daughter- Heather “Tiger” Heath of Herrin Four grandchildren: Josh Heath and Shyla of Herrin Casey Heath of Herrin Sam Bandy of Herrin Luke Heath and Stephanie of Iuka, IL Thirteen Great Grandchildren Sister- Karen Dame and husband Tim of Energy Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her father, 2 grandchildren- Heath and Dustin Bandy. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Her brother in law- Bro. Tim Dame will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
