Donald E. Broeking, 92, of Marion, passed away on Friday, July 08, 2016 at 10:45 am, at home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Broeking was born June 24, 1924 in Marion the son of L.E. and Aurelia (Fry) Broeking. He married Luetta Dettmer on April 17, 1948 in Marion and together they shared 68 years of marriage.
Mr. Broeking grew up on a farm east of Marion. He was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Marion. He had volunteered many years with the Marion Youth Baseball. He was a member of the UMWA and the BPOE #800 Elks. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing and hunting.

Preceded by his Parents, sister – Dorothy Whitehead and infant brother L.E. Broeking, Jr.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. John Holst officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
