Marion Donald Ray Crabtree, 74, passed away at 7:40 P.M. on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Fountains Nursing Care Center in Marion. Donald was born January 22, 1932 in Muddy, Illinois to Emerson Russell & Lula Olive (Lowe) Crabtree. He married Sarah Helen Wright on January 5, 1995 she survives in Marion. Donald retired in 1978 from working in the Steel Mills in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to his retirement he also farmed. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard; he enjoyed playing cards, working crossword puzzles, playing Nintendo video games, bowling and fishing. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at Dairy Queen and spending time with his wife. Donald and Sarah were members of Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses and he enjoyed reading the Bible. Survivors included: Wife Sarah Helen Crabtree of Marion Step Daughter Sarah Jean Wright of Morganfield, Kentucky Three Step Grandchildren; Tony B.J. Elders of Herrin Malin Sola of Henderson, Kentucky Airanna Berry of West Chicago, Illinois Mother-in-law Ruby L. Beavers of Goreville Four Sisters-in-law; Hazel Moeckel and husband Shirley of Waterloo, Illinois Ruth Bocook of Goreville Ann Ferguson and husband Jerry of Marion Edie Andres of Marion Two Brothers-in-law; Dallas Beavers of Goreville Van McGill and wife Ada of Elkville Niece Robin Hoffman of Elkhart, Indiana Special Friend Brother Arthur Rodriquez of Johnston City Preceded by Parents, Step-Father Elmer Myers, Three Brothers-in-law Jack Bocook, Mike McGill and Terry Andres A memorial services will be held at a later date. It was Mr. Crabtrees wish to be cremated with burial following at Old Brushy Cemetery in Harco. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
