Donna Edwards

Donna Edwards, 102, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 4:30 P.M. at her sons home. Donna was born October 31, 1906 in Missouri the daughter of Walter & Victoria McCombs. She married Herbert Edwards in 1923 in Marion and together they shared 64 years of marriage until his death on August 9, 1987 Donna was a homemaker, she attended the Hendrickson Street General Baptist Church. She was a very dedicated mother and Christian who was happiest cooking and helping others. She especially loved little children and was always happy to provide refreshments for them. She is survived by; Two sons; Jess Edwards of Marion Jerry Edwards of West Frankfort Daughter Alma Lou Edwards of Energy Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren Half-Brother Walter Leroy McCombs of Marion Preceded by her Parents, Daughter Nadine Williams, Sons Jimmy Edwards and Frank Edwards, Brothers and Sisters. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Don Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
