Donna Rae Vancil

Herrin- Donna Rae Vancil, age 74, of Herrin, passed away at 10:30am on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at her home in Herrin. Donna was born in Royalton on July 25, 1941, the daughter of Charles and Josie (Burklo) Hopgood. She married Robert Vancil on January 25, 1974 in Herrin. He survives. Donna had worked as a bookkeeper for electric companies including Selmar Peerless Electric, Carbondale Electric, and White Electric. Survivors include her husband- Robert Vancil of Herrin Sister- Joan Lasley of Zeigler Niece- Jane and Danny Holtmann of Edwardsville Nephew- John Ranek of Glen Carbon Niece- Debbie and Earl Samples of Zeigler Niece- Josie Flowers of Zeigler Niece- Lori Domineck of Zeigler Niece- Lori and John Gelgut of Energy Nephew- Rusty and Lori Ward of Marion Nephew- Michael and Kim Ward of Herrin Niece- Danielle Clark of Energy Niece- Nikki Justice and husband Michael of Branson, MO Niece- Patti Cline and husband Jack of Branson, MO Nephew- Skip Miller and wife Janelle of Branson, MO Niece- Gina Ingram and husband Thomas of Jackson, MS Nephew- Mike Mooney of Jackson, MS Three sister-in-laws- Vera Mae Mooney of Jackson, Miss Joyce and Ralph Miller of Branson, MO Sue Ward of Energy Several great nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister- Rita Ranek. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastor Roger Potocki officiating.  Burial will follow at Cundiff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 2pm at the funeral home on Wednesday. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
