Dorotha Elnora Armentrout

Herrin- Dorotha Elnora Armentrout, age 93, of Herrin, passed away at 11:37am on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at The Anchor of River to River Assisted Living in Marion. Dorotha was born in Herrin on November 11, 1922, the daughter of Rollie and Rosie (Brown) Cravens. She married Robert Asa in Cape Girardeau in 1941. He preceded her in death. She later married Herschel Draper who also preceded her in death.   She then married Richard Armentrout in Marion in 1962. He also preceded her in death. Mrs. Armentrout was a member of the first Presbyterian Church of Herrin. Before her retirement, Dorotha worked in the Kroger deli. Survivors include her daughter- Cheryl Asa of St. Louis, MO Daughter- Connie Draper- Large of Imperial, MO Grandson- Brett Clavenna of Chicago Grandson- Scott Clavenna of Boston Like a son- Mike Evertsen of Woodstock, IL Brother- Gean Cravens of Wild Wood, FL She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her sisters- Helen Cravens and Violet Aaron, brother- Homer Cravens, and her son-in-law- Ron Large. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Herrin City Cemetery with Pastor Michael Neubert officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with arrangements. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
