Dorothy J. Patton

Marion- DOROTHY JANE PATTON, age 68, of Marion, passed away at 8:00AM on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home, after a rather short bout with cancer. Dorothy was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 25, 1938 the daughter of Gilbert R. and Stella I. Schofield. She was united in marriage to Jon L. Patton on March 4, 1961 in Evanville, Indiana and together they shared 45 years of marriage. Jon survives in Marion. Dorothy was a former member of the Methodist Temple in Evansville, Indiana, where she was baptized. She was employed for many years at the Jackson and Gray Insurance Company in Marion. Mrs. Patton was a member of the Leroy A Chapter of Eastern Star in Marion and Isis Temple of Daughters of the Nile in Evansville, Indiana. Dorothy is survived by her husband- Jon L. Patton of Marion, three sons and their wives-Jonathan S. and Tina Patton of Rockport, Indiana; Mark A. and Melanie Patton of Metropolis, Illinois, and Rodney W. and Shea Patton of Marion, Illinois; One Grandson- Corey Inman Patton of Rockport, Indiana,; two grand-daughters- Lindsey L. Patton and Jonna L. Patton of Boonville, Indiana; one step-granddaughter- Carmen Wedding of Rockport, IL; Brother- Carl and Beverly Schofield; Sisters- Mary Anna Spangler of Evansville, Indiana and Lucille & David Hayes of Newburgh, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister- Thelma L. Kissel and her brother- Ralph Schofield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, January 29, 2007 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
