Dorothy Louise Marlow

Herrin- Dorothy Louise Marlow, age 87, of Herrin, passed away at 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Century Assisted Living in Carbondale. Dorothy was born on July 18, 1925 in Herrin, the daughter of Frank and Frances (Gualdoni) Venegoni.  She married Louis P. Marlow on June 22, 1948 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2011. Mrs. Marlow was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin.  She spent her life as a homemaker.  Taking care of her family was her priority, making sure food was always on the table, clothes were always washed, and her family felt loved.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.  Dorothy will be dearly missed by one and all. Survivors include her daughter- Barbara Lilianstrom and husband Robert of O’Fallon Son- Richard Marlow and wife Mary Kay of Johnston City Brother- Robert Venegoni of Herrin Brother- Bill Venegoni and wife Jo Ann of Arnold, MO Nieces- Tiffany and John Kern of St. Louis, MO & Nicole Venegoni of St. Louis, MO Great Nephew- Nicolas William Kern of St. Louis, MO She was preceded in death by her parents and husband- Louis. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Passages Hospice and the staff at Century Assisted Living in Carbondale for the wonderful care given to Dorothy.  Your care and compassion during this difficult time is greatly appreciated. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on Monday.  Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
