Dorothy Mae (Sweeney) Tottleben, 77, of Marion, passed away at 9:09 PM, Friday, March 14, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on September 6, 1930 in Marion to Roy & Vivian (Higgins) Sweeney. She married William Bill Tottleben on February 10, 1947 in Marion. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1994. Mrs. Tottleben retired from N. O. Nelson after many years. She was a member of the Marion Third Baptist Church. She was volunteer of the year at the Marion Learning Center and a member of the Senior Circle at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Dorothy Mae had many fiends and she enjoyed playing cards and bingo with them. SURVIVORS include- Son & daughter in law- Bobby L. & Vivian Tottleben of Zeigler Son & daughter in law- Bill & Anne Tottleben of Marion Daughter & son in law- Sherrie & Richard Hanes of Herrin Daughter & son in law- Pamela & Terry Burns of Marion Grandchild- Robert Tottleben & wife Harriet of West Frankfort Grandchild- Steven Housden of Herrin Grandchild- Brad Blades of Eugene, OR Grandchild- Eric Blades & wife Sara of Marion Grandchild- Jacquelyn Martin & husband Jeremy of Marion Grandchild- Tabitha Tottleben of Marion Grandchild- Christy Law & husband Brandon of Norfolk, VA Grandchild- Paula Murphy & husband Phillip of Marion Twelve Great Grandchildren Sister & brother in law- Wanda & Robert Fietsam of Marion Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, great grandson- Galen Tottleben and one sister- Louise Morris. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Scott Kallem will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home/ 800 N. Market St/ Marion, IL 62959.
