Dorothy Marshall

Herrin- Dorothy Marshall, 76, of Herrin, died at 2:10 P.M., Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at her home in Herrin. Mr. Marshall was born on January 25, 1925 in Selmer, TN to James Joseph & Ell Mae (Flatt) Ramsey. She married Ira E. Marshall on September 2, 1941 in Corinth, MS. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1982. Mrs. Marshall worked for twenty years as a seamstress at Smoller Bros in Herrin. She was a member of Park Avenue Church of God. She enjoyed volunteering at the Herrin Community Pantry. SURVIVORS: Dtr & son in law- Daphne & James Hall- West Frankfort, IL Grandchildren: Joyce & Bill Lawrence- Herrin Debby & John Rich- West Frankfort Chuck Marshall- Carbondale Gale & Chris Ballard- Herrin Clay & Mindy Marshall- Herrin Amanda Hall- West Frankfort Grt Grandchildren: Emily Rich- West Frankfort Dylan Ballard- Herrin Sety Lawrence- Herrin Shay Marshall- Herrin Lily Ballard- Herrin Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Charles Marshall, daughter; Linda Jeffrey, three sisters, and two brothers. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 15, 2001 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Revs. Don Wright & J. K. Tiffin will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday, September 14, 2001 from 6-9:00 PM at the funeral home.
