Dorothy McAlpin

Dorothy Jane McAlpin, 82, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 2:25 P.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Dorothy was born December 5, 1924 in Williamson County the daughter of Roy and Hettie Lee (Beasley) Tanner. She married Virgil McAlpin on October 19, 1946 in Arnold View and together they were blessed with over 35 years of marriage until his death on January 1, 1982. Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of 3rd Baptist Church, of Heartland Hospital Auxiliary and had volunteered at the Thrift Shoppe. She is survived by: Two Sons; David McAlpin and wife Debbie of Marion Rick McAlpin and wife Vickie of Marion Four Grandchildren; Brad McAlpin of Marion Bethany Ponivas and husband Drew of Columbus, Georgia Stacey Rix and husband Ryan of Marion Janie Havens and husband Chad of Marion Great Granddaughter Loralie Rix Two Sisters; Anna Bryan of Marion Bonnie Johns and husband Robert of the Lake of Egypt Several nieces and nephews Preceded by Parents, Husband - Virgil and Brother Virgil Tanner. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
