Energy- Dorothy P. Ladd, 93, of Energy, passed away at 12:03 AM, Friday, September 10, 2010 at her home. Dorothy was born on September 16, 1916 in Christian County, Kentucky to Eula & Emma (Knight) Wade. She married John H. Ladd on March 3, 1933 in Crofton, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1988 after 55 years of marriage. Dorothy was devoted to her husband and family. Mrs. Ladd was a homemaker and member of Energy United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her loving family. Survivors include- Son- Doug Ladd & wife Mary of Energy Daughter- Janice Guill & husband R.L of Herrin Daughter- Joyce (Ladd) Blue of Herrin Son- Mike Ladd & wife Crickett of Thompsonville Son in law- Earl Hatfield of Herrin Eight Grandchildren: Earl Hatfield Jr. & wife Teri Crystal (Hatfield) LaBotte & husband Tim Pam (Ladd) Miller & husband Paul Amy (Ladd) Behnken & husband Karl Jana (Guill) Fanning & husband David Shawn Ladd & wife Leah Kim Ladd Travis Ladd Several Great Grandchildren: Michelle, Anna & Wesley Hatfield Matthew & Joseph LaBotte Casey Raymer Paige Behnken Emma Fanning Tori, Madison, Falyn & Amelia Ladd Great Great Grandchildren- Madyson & Rylee Jo LaBotte Sister- Agnes Shemwell of Herrin Brother- Robert Wade & wife Pearl of St. Louis Many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters- JoAnn Hatfield & infant daughter- Jean Gale Ladd, grandson- Robert Michael Guill, sister- Ruth Simmons, one brother- Edward Wade and brothers in law- Ernest Simmons & George Shemwell. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 13, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastor Casey Raymer and Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Energy First United Methodist Church, Hospice of Southern Illinois, American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
