Anna- EARL CHESTER McNEELY, of Anna, IL, passed away at 1:20pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Jonesboro Rehabilitation and Health Center after a long illness. He was 83.
"Mac" was born October 22, 1924 in Marion, Illinois to the late Aaron and Elsie McNeely. He served in the Unites States Army and was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. McNeely was a Shriner and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Mac was a retired electrician with CIPS.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Yates McNeely; his three children: Martha Crimmins and husband Darrell of Carrollton, TX; Michael McNeely of Anna, IL; and Jeffrey McNeely and wife Chong of Tokyo, Japan; five grandchildren: Blaine Crimmins and wife Natalie of Frisco, TX; Darren Crimmins of Lewisville, TX; Kelly Swain of Carrollton, TX; Thomas McNeely of Houston, TX; and Olivia McNeely of Tokyo, Japan; and 3 great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastor Tony Foeller of Annas First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Masonic rites will be conducted by Anna's Masonic Lodge at 7:00pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
