Marion Earl Parks, 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 7:02 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Earl Parks, a well known businessman, was born to R.M. and Kate (Klope) Parks on August 16, 1923 in Williamson County. He married Louise Cawthon on February 13, 1943 in Crab Orchard and together they were blessed with four wonderful daughters.
Earl was owner and president of Parks Implement Company and helped to organize the Bank of Egypt, which is now Banterra Bank of Marion. He served as Chairman of Bank of Egypt and served on the boards of Mississippi Valley Farm Equipment Association, Dealer Council G.M.C. Truck and Coach in St. Louis, Missouri and the Marion Memorial Hospital Foundation. He was a former director of the Marion Chamber of Commerce and 2006 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a past president of Marion Kiwanis Club. He is a member of Third Baptist Church of Marion, Williamson County Farm Bureau and B.P.O.E. #800 Elks of Marion.
He enjoyed the game of golf and experienced two holes in one.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Noon at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Kallem officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
