Echo June (Angel) McNail Springs, 91, of Marion died at 8:13 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004 at the home of her daughter Betty Musgrave where she had resided for the past three years.
Mrs. Springs was born June 1, 1913 in Williamson County to Claude and Abbie (Harris) Angel. She married Estess McNail in 1929 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1938. She later married John Springs in 1974, who later died on Dec. 20, 1985.
Echo worked as a homemaker and caregiver. She was a life-long member of Coal Bank Springs Baptist Church in Dykersburg following her acceptance of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior during a revival there as a child.
Survivors include her three children and their spouses: Robert N. and Sue McNail; Don H. and Mary McNail and Betty and Olie Musgrave. All reside in Marion.
Six grandchildren also survive: Vicki Jaco and her husband Clay of Rapid City, S.D.; Kim Doron and her husband David of Hallsville, Texas; Lisa Riggs and her husband Danny of Harrisburg; Angela McNail of Harrisburg; Robert E. McNail of Harrisburg; and Jon Manning Musgrave of Marion.
Echos surviving family also includes six great-grandchildren: Matthew Jaco of Dallas, Texas; Todd Jaco and his wife Megan of Rapid City, S.D.; Anthony Doron of Hallsville, Texas; Akita Doron of Hallsville, Texas; Jada Diefenbach of London, England; and Macie McNail of Marion.
From her second marriage one step-son, John Robert Springs of Abbeyville, South Carolina, and one step-daughter-in-law Barbara Springs of Indiana, also survive. A number of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive as well.
Besides her husbands and parents, all three of her siblings preceded her in death: Don Angel, Lillian Vineyard and Hope Angle. A step-son Joseph Springs and grandson Jerry Kevin McNail also preceded her in death.
Visitation is set from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with funeral services planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Turner will officiate. Burial will follow in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery.
For those who prefer memorials may be given to the Coal Bank Springs Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
