Pittsburg-Edward Buttrum, 64, died 10:50 A.M., Saturday, April 6, 2002 at St. Louis University Hospital.
In accordance to Mr. Buttrum?s wishes, his body was cremated. There will be no services. His cremains will be buried at a later date.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the American Cancer Society. Memorial envelopes are available at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.

Mr. Buttrum was born July 1, 1937 in New Madrid, Missouri to W.E. & Lena (Jones) Buttrum.
He married Frances Addie (Hosman) Buttrum on June 4, 1957 in Marion. Frances survives.
He was a retired coal miner having worked at Amax Coal, Delta mines in Williamson County. He was member of the UMW of A. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1955 to 1959.

Also survived by several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Eddie Wayne Buttrum who died at birth and one brother William (Fat) Norris Buttrum.
