Edward O. Humphrey, 93, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 6 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Edward was born December 6, 1917 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Archie and Clara (Helhake) Humphrey. He married Edith Bickhaus on August 25, 1940 in St. Patrick, Missouri and together they shared over 64 years of marriage until her death on December 3, 2004.
He proudly answered the call to serve his country during WWII, and while serving in the Army he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, serving as a Parrish trustee when the property was purchased and the present church was built. Edward was one of the founding members of the Marion Knights of Columbus. He also served as a Director of the Williamson County Credit Union, and member of the Marion V.F.W. Post #1301, D.A.V., and Marion Chamber of Commerce. He retired from Ameren CIPS, where he was the Southern Division Supervisor of New Business Activity.

Two great grandchildren; Brock and Brinley Presson
Preceded by Parents, Wife Edith and two brothers Elmo and Arthur.
The funeral mass will be Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Steven Humphrey and Rev. Monsignor Thomas Flach officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
