Marion- Edward Joseph Brofka, Jr., age 73, of Marion, passed away at 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Herrin Hospital.
Edward was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 18, 1944, the son of Teresa (Kopczeski) and Edward Brofka, Sr. He married Linda A. Albers in 1969 in Fort Benning, Georgia. She recently preceded him in death on February 2, 2018. She was the love of his life.
Mr. Brofka was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a proud United States Army Veteran. Prior to his retirement, Edward had served as President of the Black and Decker Corporation.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife- Linda; daughter- Laurel Brofka; three sisters- Berniece Svitil, Millie Thompson, and Evelyn Smerowski; and one brother- Vincent Brofka.
Joint memorial services for he and his wife, Linda, will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Monsignor Thomas Flach will officiate. A time of visitation will be held from 2-3pm on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
