Herrin-Elbert Lee Frasier, 86, died at 3:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 25, 2002 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Elbert was born January 11, 1916 at Stiritz, Illinois to Vernon Eli & Bessie Mae (Helms) Frasier. He married Gladys (Stern) Frasier on February 14, 1936. Gladys survives. He was employed for 27 years at Allen Industries in Maintenance. He was also a brick & block mason. He was of the Protestant Faith. Before failing health, Elbert enjoyed fishing, hunting & putting a garden out every year. He is survived by: His wife: Gladys Frasier of Herrin Son & Daughter In Law: Delmar & Sandy Frasier of Herrin Daughter & Son In Law: Norma Jean & Ron Stewart of Herrin Five Grandchildren Eleven Great Grandchildren Two Great Great Grandchildren Also survived by several nieces, nephews, & cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 27, 2002 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 27, 2002 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Shawnee Christian Nursing Center-Activity Department or to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
