OBITUARY Johnson Hughes Funeral Home June 10, 2002 ELENA BOFETTA BOETTCHER Herrin - Elena Bofetta Boettcher, 99, died at 2:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2002 at Friendship Care Nursing Center in Herrin. She was born July 5, 1902 in Calument Michigan to Anthony and Madeline (Magherrio) Nigra. She married Joseph Bofetta July 23, 1925 in Herrin. He died 1952. She then married M.J. Boettcher in l963 in Herrin. He died in 1973. She was a 30 year-plus retail sales clerk for Rechter's Brothers; She was a member of OLMC Catholic Church in Herrin and a past Regent and First Regent of the Daughters of Isabella. She was an honorary member of the Retail Clerks Union in Herrin. Survivors include: Daughter and son in law - Elaine and Pete McAnelly - Marion, IL Son and dtr in law - George and Marilyn Bofetta - Tempe, AZ Stepdaughter Mary and Bob Dunkel of San Alto, CA Five grandchildren Michael C. Bofetta and wife Viv of Los Angeles Pat and Kathy Bofetta of Springfield, MO Linda and Jim Miller of Herrin, IL Kim Gould of Tempe, AZ Mark and Shelley Smith of Herrin, IL Two Step-Grandchildren Cathy and Ann Dunkel Three Great Grandchildren - Randi and J.D. Koval of Herrin Shandra and Mitchell Gosha of Herrin Britton and John Nesler of Herrin Three Great Great Grandchildren - Ryley, Raegen Gosha and Bronson Nesler Sister - Margaret Campbell - Herrin Proceeded by two brothers, two sisters, and two husbands. Funeral services will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. Msg. Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be at the Johnson-Hughes funeral home in Herrin on Wednesday morning from 9-11:00 A.M. Burial will be at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin.
