Elizabeth Anne Smith

DeSoto- ELIZABETH ANNE SMITH, age 50, of DeSoto, passed away at 11:12am on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her home in DeSoto. Elizabeth was born on August 28, 1960 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Edwin J. and Marion (Shaw) Steinlicht. She married Scott Smith in Joliet on May 18, 1988. Together, they shared twenty-three years of marriage. He survives in DeSoto. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. Her life was her children and her family. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and traveling with her family. Survivors include her husband- Scott Smith of DeSoto, IL Daughter- Amanda Matay of Tyler, TX Son- Franklin Smith of Marian, WI Son- Nicholas Smith of Herrin, IL Twins- Jacob and Justine Smith of DeSoto, IL Granddaughter- Jaiden Broyles of Tyler, TX Sister- Pamela and Bill Beck of Joliet, IL Brother- David Steinlicht of Joliet, IL Several nieces and nephews And her beloved, faithful dog- Lucy, whom she rescued and gave a wonderful life She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother- Edwin J. Steinlicht, Jr. As per her wishes, her body will be cremated. The family will hold memorial services at a later date. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with services.
