Ella B. Tubbs

ELLA B. TUBBS, age 85, of Marion, passed away at 6:12am on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion. Ella was born on December 15, 1924 the daughter of Lloyd and Sarah Powell. She married Frank Watkins in Marion in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1963. She married Jack Tubbs in Marion in 1971. He preceded her in death in 1994. Ella was a homemaker. She was of Baptist faith. Survivors include- Daughter- Ruth Emery and husband Richard of Marion, IL Daughter- Rosemary Smith-Brown and husband Ronald of Marion, IL Daughter- Louise Jennings of Marion, IL Son- Jesse Watkins of Marion, IL Eleven Grandchildren- Amy Henderson, Kristen Massie, George Henderson, Kobra Adams, Matt Brown, Scott Brown, Richard Watkins, Robert Watkins, Carlton Cosby, Donald Cosby and Jason Cosby Great Grandchildren- Seventeen Great Great Grandchild- One Two sisters- Betty Frey of Herrin, IL and Edith Neafus of Marion, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two brothers- Estelle Lee Powell and Virgil John Powell, and a sister- Lillian (Powell) Jordon. Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion with Rev. Rob Smith officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
